Shaws is pretty much your standard starter job. It's retail which isnt going to be the greatest anyway but it is doable. I'm 19 years old and have been employed for almost three years to get me though high school and community college and I must admit I have had the worst experiences here.

I work in the front end so Im constantly dealing with people which I am fine with. My store has decent customers so I dont have complaints about it. However my manager literally makes my life and my fellow employees, a living ***.

My manager actually graduated with a psychology degree back when she was in school so you would think she would know how to treat people. WRONG. My manager is a major manipulator and is constantly seeing us as at fault for everything.

I remember giving her a note saying i would not being working for a shift she penciled me in for on short notice. The next morning I should up she sees me and basically says with a large attitude "I gave you time. You come in or find someone else." Now i had been having major problems with her lately so that was the point where I said enough was enough. I confronted her in her office blatenly asking her what was it that made her dislike me so much. Being the sly fox she is, she pulled information from a year ago which was COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT and threw it at me like I was to blame. I didnt want to listen to her speak any longer so i gave up. But that isnt the last time she has ever manipulated me or anyone else.

Shes given a woman major attitude for asking for mothers days off. MOTHERS DAY. TO BE WITH HER CHILDREN. she guilts others into taking other employees shifts. She tells you you never asked for a day off when you truly did.

She is honestly full of *** and my store director does nothing about it either. My department manager is either making you feel like a peice of *** or in her office gossiping on the phone instead of doing her job.

All of us are so frustruated. We all are trying to quit because we are so pissed off. And the company doesnt care about our problems they never have and never will.

So simply, *** Shaws. Transfer her already.

Maybe i was too harsh in my review. But honestly this is what happens.

Im not too immature to do my job. I like working with people and I want the company to stay strong. After all I have family working here so that would be the last thing I want to happen.

Maybe I should have put it this way.

A lot of us here are very dissatisfied because we are teenagers with busy school lives. We have a hard time esculatinng problems to her because she makes us feel small. Unfortunately it isnt just the teenagers, it is the adults also that have had similar problems.

Im no tough guy or some *** kid.

I actually left for a few months because I was hired elsewhere, the reason I came back was because the commute was impossible.

I was speaking out of anger but now that I have a level head I can say the problem is I have been talking to many of my fellow employees and we all agree that we feel like we are being stepped on. I aplogize if no one else wants to believe at.

Stop threatening and just quit! Life will go on without you.

The store won't close and you are easily replaceable.. As usual it's just tough guy talk...

You poor baby, you have a job but don't want to work the hours assigned. It is a little late after you have been scheduled to tell the boss you need that time off.

Before you criticize the manager for not letting the woman have Mother's Day off to spend with her kids, stop and think what it would be like if every working mother had that day off. Those things are usually done on a first come, first served basis.

Maybe she should have asked for the day off three/four months ago, or even longer. It really sounds like you are too immature to be working.
